Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Trinity Chamber Orchestra! As this 38 to 50 piece orchestra celebrates its Fourteenth Season, we are thrilled to present a truly fabulous array of outstanding music at our Bethesda location: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 7500 Pearl Street, Bethesda MD 20814, two blocks from the Bethesda Metro station on Metro’s Red Line at the corner of East-West Highway and Pearl Street. We are proud to continue to give our audience an enhanced visual and listening venue amid the beauty of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with its gradually raked seating and acoustically rich setting, while also offering free parking in the large church parking lot on Pearl Street.

The mission of the Trinity Chamber Orchestra is to perform outstanding sacred and secular music from the Baroque period through the 21st century, all for the Honor and Glory of God, under the patronage of the most Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our Fourteenth Season is dedicated to the memory of our long — time friend and outstanding board member Mr. Richard Somers, who passed away last spring, and who believed in and supported the TCO from the very beginning, helping to make this orchestra the success that it is today. As his many friends know, Dick Somers loved good music, and was a dedicated and valued supporter of a wide variety of organizations in the Washington DC metropolitan area that promote classical music in all its forms, from Gilbert and Sullivan operettas to Grand Opera, and all eras of orchestral music.

Therefore, inspired by our dear friend Dick Somers, we present our fabulous Fourteenth Season! You will be treated to an absolutely stunning array of “Classical Greats,” this year featuring music that evokes fantastic stories and vivid images from stage and screen, from operas and operettas, from ballets and even films. Experience musical travelogues and enchanted landscapes by Sibelius, Smetana, Grainger, and Wagner; feel the trials and triumphs of characters from operas, operettas, and ballets by Sir Arthur Sullivan, Humperdinck, Mozart, Rossini, and Tchaikovsky;; flash back to scenes from Death in Venice, Black Swan, and Fantasia; enjoy the spirit and fun of symphonies by Haydn and Beethoven; and be dazzled by the technical brilliance of concerti by Strauss, Rachmaninoff, and Vivaldi. Thrill to the virtuosity of the soloists from the orchestra, and welcome our special guest artists: Our Lady of Lourdes’ own cantor Mary Gresock, and area award-winning Croatian recording artist and piano teacher Natasha Dukan. You also won’t want to miss our surprise encores and some wonderfully festive music for our Saint Patrick’s Day concert!

We invite you to enjoy this fabulous season of “Classical Greats” with the outstanding musicians of the Trinity Chamber Orchestra under the expert baton of Maestro Richard Fazio and assistant conductor Jeffry Newberger.
